Venue Spotlight: Mayfield Vineyard

I'm always a little thrilled when I find a local wedding supplier who has put the time and effort in to develop their online profile. If there's one thing we're lacking on the country wedding front in the Central West, it's information online  for couples looking to get married in the region.

Mayfield Vineyard have just launched a beautiful new site dedicated to weddings held at their venue. Located only 10 mins outside of Orange, along the stunning Icely Road, Mayfield is an amazing spot for a country wedding. The new site captures glorious images of weddings held within their immaculate gardens, rolling vineyards, and by the dams complete with gaggling geese.

Enjoy having a look around the Mayfield Wedding site and see for yourself the spectacular country backdrop the Central West can turn on for your special day.

Trend Alert: Freshly Picked Florals

Don't you just love a rustic wedding bouquet or mixed garden flowers on guest tables?

Now, this is by no means a forecasted trend alert. This is something that I've been seeing in weddings for the last few seasons that I want to celebrate is still going strong this year.

Long gone are the days of formalised wedding bouquets being a bride's only option in the flower department. What has evolved on the wedding scene is the luxury of being able to play. No longer do we just see bouquets in the same colour with matching blooms across the board for the bridal party. Brides are ditching the traditional methods and techniques of floristry, and starting to break the rules.

The result is original, fresh, individual bunches of blooms everywhere. Some brides are lucky enough to have spectacular family gardens where they can pick fresh arrangements and group them together on the morning of the wedding. Others are heading to the flower markets the day before to personally select their own blooms, and create the most amazing rustic arrangements.

It can be a great way to save money in the wedding budget, but I think it's always important to remember flowers need to be carefully handled in order to get the best out of them on the day. Make sure you do your research and store your flowers correctly, and enlist the help of friends or a stylist to pull them together on the day to avoid any unecessary stress.

Inspiration: Country Mint

The cool colour mint...

So fresh, chic and summery.

You'll find our favourite mint finds for the season in our latest inspiration board called 'Country Mint'.

After being the colour choice of the 1940's and 50's, it's making a fierce comeback this year. Mint is a lovely adaptable shade which pairs well with peach, soft pink or golds. It can be oh so romantic and fun. Be adventurous and add a touch of mint to your bouquets, cake decor, wedding shoes or even just to your nails.

Use your imagination and explore this lovely shade!

A Vintage Country Barn Wedding...

We had the opportunity to work with a wonderful couple last month on a barn wedding at Collit's Inn, in Hartley. The bride had a beautiful rustic vision for her wedding which we helped pull together in less than six weeks.

Where's Hartley you ask? It's the first village you hit when you come over the Blue Mountains from Sydney. Situated at the foot of Mount York is the historical Collit's Inn which features a unique country barn where only the lucky few have been able to get married.

For this particular wedding we brought in mixed vintage plates, fairy lights, rustic wooden signage, hay bales, vintage jars and frames plus other fun antique pieces.

I've included a sneak preview of a few shots I grabbed while setting up but hope to share the professional pics with you soon. They always look so much better! I can't wait to see the shots of the ceremony by the dam, that was a pretty special set up...

Inspiration: Country Sunshine

Being surrounded by yellow things makes me smile. There's something unique about this colour and the effect it can have on anyone's mood.

When a bride recently came to me and said she wanted to work with yellow across her wedding decor, I was wrapped. Just the thought of all the beautiful yellow things we could incorporate into the day made me smile with anticipation.

My props store is currently full of yellow bits and pieces in preparation for this special country wedding. This is what has inspired me to create today's inspiration board. I hope this little piece of Country Sunshine makes you smile too.

Bespoke Country Weddings on Etsy!

I've been trialling a little project on the sidelines for a few weeks now... and thought it was about time I shared it with you all!

Bespoke Country Weddings has recently set up a shop on Etsy which features some of my most popular handmade wedding props and decor. Here, you'll find a treasure trove of photo props, rustic tealight holders, paper bunting and pretty country decor.

I've been getting a lovely response from brides all around Australia and lots of custom orders from as far as North Queensland & Tasmania. It's been really nice to take Bespoke Country Weddings outside of country NSW to the rest of Australia.

All my wedding props and decor are handmade in my studio in Orange NSW.

Feel free to have a look around the shop here, and if you have an idea but can't find exactly what you're after please don't hesitate to drop me a line!
